Exactly 24 minutes after midnight, on September 29 2019, a charity race was held on the Franjo Tudjman Airport’s runway. More than 1000 runners took part in the spectacular race, and the fastest among men's and women's competitions were Dino Bošnjak and Mirjana Šimek Bilić.
The runners had 45 minutes to cross the five-kilometer course, surrounded by civilian and military aircraft and followed by a MUP helicopter from the air. Before the start of the race, they were greeted with spectacular fireworks, and a water salute by the firemen 300 meters before the finish line.
We would like to thank all the participants for the great atmosphere throughout the evening, and all those who supported this action with donations. The earnings from the registration fees and voluntary donations are intended for the Foundation – Children's Oncology Rebro in Zagreb to build a new paediatric oncology department.
