Automatic External Defibrillators (AED)

For the safety of our passengers and visitors, automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) are available at several locations throughout the passenger terminal. An AED is an easy-to-use electronic device that analyses heart rhythm and can significantly increase the chances of survival in the event of sudden cardiac arrest. As highlighted by the Croatian Red Cross, the device is highly accurate and will recommend delivering a shock only when necessary. AEDs are designed to be safely used by anyone, including people without medical training. Each cabinet contains clear graphical instructions for use, and the device itself is designed to guide the user through the entire procedure. After switching it on, voice instructions are followed, and resuscitation continues until the person begins to breathe normally or until professional help arrives. By opening the communication cabinet that houses the AED, a connection with the emergency medical service is automatically established, which further speeds up response and coordination in emergency situations.
